This rare, first edition lithograph is from Marc Athanase Parfait Oeillet Des Murs's Iconographie Ornithologique; Nouveau recueil general de planches peintes d'Oiseaux; our servir de Suite et de Complement aux Planches Enluminees de Buffon ... et aux planches coloriees de MM. Temminck et Laugier de Chartrouse ... Figures dessinées et peintes par Oudard. The work was published in Paris by Friedrich Klincksieck in 1849. The lithographs which feature original hand-finished coloring are by and after Oudart, Prevost, and others.
