Howard & Co., Boston, Mass" has black incised Roman hour numerals, 5 minute numbers outside, sub seconds and original blued pierced diamond hands; quality No. 3 brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed "E. Howard & Co., Boston" has graham deadbeat escapement having jeweled pallets, maintaining power, original brass covered weight with original solid brass pulley and original 1 jar faceted cut glass pendulum bob hanging from a silver painted turned wood stick which is mounted on the cast iron bracket and has a silvered beat indicator. In a beautiful walnut wall hanging case having a turned finial on an arched crest with quarter fan carving, scalloped shoulder, large quarter corner columns with stylized seashell capitols at the top and reverse black painted and gold leaf door glass which reads "Presented to Joseph S. Waterman, By Friends, December 1890". Case has a slightly cleaned original finish which retains some original crazing & patina, pendulum stick is repainted, mercury replaced with invar. 73 in. high x 22.75 in. wide x 10.5 in. deep.
