Description: 1 November 1907 PARIS. 4% Obligation de F500. blue. #6000. No 7751. Very decorative piece, with a fountain representing 'Water' on one side, and a lady for 'Electricity' on the other. Also little angels, mythical creatures, etc. Formed 1880 to supply water services to Lyon, but soon expanded into electricity and gas, and to other cities ; by 1914 it was one of France's leading utility companies. At that time it started international expansion, first into France's colonial empire, in Africa and elsewhere, and then, after WW1, to other countries. Nationalised 1946, but later re-privatised. In 1968 the Suez Company became the major shareholder of Lyonnaise des Eaux and the two merged in 1997 to form the new Suez Group. The oldest certificate of this important company known to us. Only piece known to us.
