350. MICHAEL FARADAY (1791-1867) English chemist and physicist who discovered the properties of electromagnetic induction, and rotation and devised several methods of generating electricity. A.L.S. "M. Faraday", 1p. 8vo. on Royal Institute letterhead, [n.d.], to Dr. Max Muller, in part: "The man has neither brought me back your table or any estimate of it. I will look after it at once...if you will send me another table, the second for instance, I will go to another man..." Matted with a photo and brass plaque, set into a gilt frame. Fine. $300-400
