The American built screw steamer City of Chattanooga was in service between 1923- 1942. She was built by the Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co., in Newport News, VA., and owned by the Ocean Steam Ship Co. She had a principal dimension of 382ft and weighed 5,861 tons. She was used as a training ship in WW II and torpedoed in 1942.
