The S.S. City of St. Louis was built by the Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. in Newport News, VA., and owned by the Ocean Steam Ship Co. She had principal dimensions of 371.6ft LOA x 49.7ft beam x 15.4ft draft and weighing 5,425 tons. She was in service during both world wars.
