Description: A 5-inch brass flashlight with part and serial numbers and data note sheet approximately 4x3 inches. The flashlight is stamped with: "ACR FA-5, S/N2023, Date of MFG 2/70." Both items were flown on Skylab 3, the last Skylab mission. All are mounted on a 10x12 inch wood base with a mission patch and plaque that reads: "To Karl Henize. SO19 Procedures: 1. Position star chart in front of lens and illuminate with flashlight. 2. Open shutter for time specified in pad. 3. Report SO19 ops complete." NASA/JSC, nd
Notes: The procedure list was a unofficial gag method to operate the SO19 UV astronomy experiment. Henize was one of the science investigators for SO19 who also was an astronaut. He would later fly on Space Shuttle mission STS 51F in 1985.
