FRANCIS (FRANK) THOMAS CARTER (1853-1934), NEAR SCARTOLER, signed lower right, oil on canvas, framed. 30cm by 44cm Note: Carter was born at Warkworth, a son of the station master. A regular exhibitor at the RA and RSA, it is often said that he spent six days of the week as an innkeeper and Sundays as a painter. His family ran the Nags Head in Newcastle.
