*Francois Le Moyne (1688-1737) two studies of heads of a young boy, one in profile. Black and red chalk heightened with white on blue paper. 285 by 232mm. This drawing is one of a number of colorful studies by the artist, executed in trois crayons or pastel, in a manner characteristic of the period. The creation of shadows with parallel hatchings in black chalk is also typical of Le Moyne's style.
