Promenade is an exquisite example of Feininger's skill as a gifted cartoonist as well as his strength as an independent artist. Inspired by Parisian street scenes and based on numerous Natur-Notizen, this work is a charming rendition of a street scene with fashionable nineteenth-century strollers.
