Gary Ratushniak 1957 - Canadian linocut in 5 colours Peace Dance 15 x 17 inches 38.1 x 43.2 centimeters signed, titled and editioned EP 2/10 Provenance:Private Collection, Campbell River Gary Ratushniak was a pupil of Sybil Andrews's who studied drawing, painting and printmaking with her over a ten year period in Campbell River. Ratushniak was drawn by the Kwagiutl native culture and was inspired by their remote villages, coastal legends and historic dances. He drew directly from nature, traveling throughout the Vancouver Island coastal regions on sketching expeditions. In 1984 with the support of Sybil Andrews, Ratushniak moved to London, England to further his artistic education, and continues to produce prints, drawings and paintings there.
