More About this Item

Description: Artist: PAUL LANDRY (1904-1990) Size: 25 1/2 x 39 1/2 in./64.8 x 100.3 cm R. Marsens, Lausanne For the 1947 Grand Prix in Lausanne, Switzerland, Landry created a fierce, if not downright aggressive poster. The fiery red and intense speed-lines almost make it feel like some menacing visage, teeth bared, is lunging toward the viewer. This was the second year for Grand Prix racing after World War II. At this particular event, Luigi Villoresi won behind the wheel of a Maserati. He would win a total of six Grand Prix that year alone.
