Description

Group of five 20th century Japanese scrolls on paper and silk, including three scrolls consisting entirely of script, one scroll depicting a gathering of sages, and one woodblock scroll depicting the Buddhist priest Ikkyu Sojun and the courtesan Jigoku-Dayu, 1899, by Mizuno Toshikata (Japanese, 1866-1908); largest 20" x 72 1/2".

A 20% Buyer's Premium will be added to all items purchased at the auction via phone or absentee bid, 25% if purchased via Invaluable, Live Auctioneers, or Auction Zip. All items are also subject to any applicable state and local sales and use tax unless the purchaser presents a valid sales tax exemption certificate. Unless prior arrangements have been made, all fine jewelry lots must be paid by bank check or wire transfer.

All items are sold "as is" - the auctioneer makes no warranties of any kind. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid.
