Otto van Guericke's work on the Magdeburg hemispheres experiment is considered as 'One of the Hundred Books Famous in Science' (Horblit, Grolier Club). We offer a very fine copy from the family of the author. Including of course the legendary engraving showing the sixteen horses pulling in vain under the hemispheres in the sky and the silhouette of Magdeburg in the background.
