Henri Alexis Schaeffer (French, 1900-1975) oil on canvas night time Paris street scene. Signed lower left. Housed in the original gilt wooden frame. Sight: 17 3/8" H x 20 1/4" W. Framed: 22 7/8" H x 25 7/8" W. Biography: Henri Alexis Schaeffer was born in Paris, France in early August of 1900. A student at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris, Schaeffer studied painting under the hand of the master Cormon. He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1934.
