Joanna Hyslop (1956-), Chicago, oil on canvas, unframed, 228 x 243cm.; 89.75 x 95.5in. * She studied at West Surrey College of Art, Farnham, 1972-4; at Portsmouth Polytechnic, 1974-7 and Chelsea School of Art, 1977-8. Showed in London and the provinces in group exhibitions. These included the 1983 Cleveland Drawing Biennale, the Leicester Exhibition, 1984 and John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, 1985 and 1995-6 in which she won a prize. Had solo exhibitions at Aspex Gallery, Portsmouth, 1986 and in 1987-8 one at the Atkinson Art Gallery, Southport, toured. Walker Art Gallery holds her work.
