Description

JOSEPH KOSUTH: FOUR TITLED ABSTRACTS (FROM S.M.S.1968), New York, The Letter Edged in Black Press., 1968, First Edition. "Four Titled Abstracts" was Joseph Kosuth's rigorous investigation cum artist's multiple that was the renowned Conceptual practitioner's contribution to the June 1968 issue of William Copley's S.M.S. (Shit Must Stop) periodical. It consists of four individual hand-folded sheets with white lettering on black, each numbered and titled in white "Titled (Art as Idea as Idea)" with an entry from one of four different dictionaries for the word "abstract". All are enclosed in a black printed 10 x 10.5 in. folder. Fine.
