Judith DesBrisay, who studied at Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design, has exhibited her art works for twenty-seven years: in Canada, Chile, and Antarctica. With a history of twenty-four solo exhibits and participation in over ninety group exhibits, she has paintings in Permanent Collections at Penticton, Prince George and Quesnel, British Columbia; at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario; and at the Cultural Institute in Antofagasta, Chile. Judith’s art works emerge from a fascination with the Earth in all its forms; they reference the vital interplay of person and place. Observations made while living, working, and traveling extensively in North and South America [including Greenland, the Arctic, and Antarctic] are represented in her art works. This stunning edifice, La Portada, can be seen and explored outside Antofagasta, Chile. A precipitous stairway gives limited access to the beach, ocean, and unique geologic formations. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this item go towards Island Mountain Arts (Wells, BC) (www.imarts.com).
