"Gerbeaud" used to be - before the war - the most famous cake shop and tea-room in Budapest (the equivalent of Sacher Café in Vienna). Founded by the "maître-patissier" Gerbeaud, known for having created many "delicatessen", among them its famous "BombeGerbeaud", a cake coated with chocolate and filled with "Crème Chantilly". The shop still exists and equally famous in today’s Budapest; the large vignette shows it in Vorösmarty Place in central Budapest. Other vignettes of coats of arms, and medals.Text in Hungarian and French.
