LeBlanc, Peter. Original woodblock print self-portrait. 47½x35¾" woodblock print on Japanese paper. 1960's Noted Beat Generation artist, Peter LeBlanc, best known for his series of Beat poet portraits. A different self-portrait of LeBlanc (sumi ink drawing of 1963) can be seen in booklet "Rolling Renaissance: San Francisco Underground Art in Celebration: 1945-68, which states: "The work is an attempt to apply the philosophical principles of Taoism to portraiture..." - on page 31. Provenance: John and Margot Patterson Doss. Light wrinkling, small holes at corners; near fine.
