Description

The Craic is Not Wack is a reworking of Keith Haring’s Crack is Wack New York mural. I wanted to pay homage to this piece but also recast it in an Irish light. This piece is a hand pulled silk screen print onto canvas with hand drawn elements using white Molotow paint pens and it measures 42 x 42 cm with a canvas depth of 2 cm.

Notes

Leo Boyd is an award winning screen printer and street art based in Belfast. His work is often playful, both in his use of mediums and themes which tend towards mashing day-glo pop culture with surveillance capitalism and the day to day absurdities of modern life. Leo has exhibited in London with his solo exhibition ‘Welcome to the Simulation’ and in Belfast with an exhibition of experimental life sized cardboard cut out called ‘What’s He Building in There?’ Leo has taken part in residencies in Berlin as well as working as a comic artist in Paris and Brussels as part of Pepinieres Europeennes De Creation and most recently was one of 5 street artists chosen to launch a new art centre on this island of Guernsey with Art for Guernsey. Most recently, Leo created an interactive stage set (The Belfast that Time Forgot in 3D) in Carlisle Memorial Church in collaboration with the Belfast Buildings Trust. Leo is a founding member of Vault Artist Studios and an active member of Belfast Print Workshop.

Shipping

You will receive your invoice at the end of the auction day. 
You must settle your invoice as soon as it is received. 
We are unable to release items until funds have cleared and become visible in our account.
Artworks can be collected from the Copperhouse Gallery during the days of Thursday the 10th of April (10am to 4pm) and Friday the 11th of April (10am to 1pm). You can also organise your own courier. After that, the artworks will be in our storage unit on the South Circular Road in Dublin and we will arrange to meet people who have paid for their items there on Saturday the 19th and Saturday the 26th of April. Any works not collected after these times will be sent by post or courier and will be paid for by the buyer.

Please ensure your name and invoice number is quoted on all payments, so that the payment can be applied to your account without delay.

You will arrange and pay for your own means of delivery. If you would rather organise a courier please do so and mail [email protected] to let him know.

Any international couriers will be paid by the winning bidder also.

The Live Auction eve is Wednesday the 9th of April 2025 at 7.00pm sharp, with the live event taking place in The Copperhouse Gallery off Camden St, Dublin 2.

Online bidders must register with Invaluable beforehand. Register at www.invaluable.com (search The SumGood Art Auctions in search bar). 

All lots must be paid in full prior to taking away or arranging delivery.

All online buyers are subject to a 15% buyers premium, and this is broken down into 10% which helps SumGood cover admin & event costs, as well as the charge for using the online bidding portal (5%). This is 10% at the live event.

The auctioneer and event managers are authorised to execute bids on behalf of absentee bidders.

All disputes will be settled at the Auctioneer's discretion.

Online bidders must pay their invoice as soon as possible as well as pay for the delivery or shipping of their won artworks. Bidder cards may be charged 2 days after the invoice has been sent.
