Description: North Africa, Taouz, Sahara, Morocco, mid-Cretaceous period, 100 to 93 million years old! Five carcharodontosaurus teeth with serrated edges from this massive dinosaur that lived in what is now Morocco during the Middle Cretaceous period. The teeth have attained wonderful fossilization and present rich caramel and russet red hues. The Carcharodontosaurus is said to be among the largest predatory dinosaurs, thought to be even larger than the Tyrannosaurus Rex, named after the shark Carcharodon, a name that literally means "jagged/sharp teeth." Size: longest tooth measures ~ 3.125" L (7.9 cm)
