Description: Marie-Anne Goyon de Matignon, Madame de GRAVE (1697-1738) fille du maréchal de Matignon, elle fut la maîtresse de Montesquieu. 2 L.A., Montpellier juillet-août [1735], à Montesquieu à Paris ; 2 pages et quart in-4 chaque, adresses avec cachets cire rouge aux armes (un brisé, 2 petits manques de papier à la première sans perte de texte). Belles lettres de son ancienne maîtresse sur le séjour de Montesquieu à Chantilly et sa liaison avec la princesse de Clermont.
29 juillet. Elle a su « que vous faisiez lornement de Chantilly et que vous y estiez fort assidu. [...] Vous connoissez assez la province les provinciennes et leurs ressources pour que je men rapporte à vous sur les amusements quon en peut tirer, il y a cependant quelque chose de plus dans cette ville qui je croy nest nulle part sest quils prenne tres souvent à injure les politesses qu'on leur fait et quils vous font parler toute la journée sans que vous ayez quelques fois ouvert la bouche adjoutez à cela la grossiereté la vanité la bonne opinion et la mechanceté dans les hommes, l'impertinence, les tracasseries, la curiosité, et le peu desprit dans les fammes. Joignez y un desir unanime dans les deux sexes d'écraser le dernier homme de condition ou celuy qui a plus de dix mille livres de rente, et vous aurez mon president un petit echantillon de nos habitans, je me garde bien de leur faire connoistre ce que je pense d'eux. Payment: By exemption, clause 14 from law from the 10th of July 2000 stipulates: «Should the buyer fail to pay the amount due, and after notice to pay has been given by S.V.V. LE BRECH & ASSOCIES to the buyer without success, the lot is re-offered for sale at the seller's request, under the French procedure known as "procédure de folle enchère"(crazy bid). If the seller does not make this request within two months from the date of the sale, the sale will be automatically cancelled, without prejudice to any damages owed by the defaulting buyer».

If the buyer fails to pay the hammer price and fees, a formal notice will be sent to him buyer by certified mail with acknowledgement of receipt. Unless payment is received within 10 days following the reception of this formal notice, additional fees of 10% on the hammer price, with a minimum of €250, will be applied in order to cover the recovery expenses. Enforcement of this stipulation does not prevent from granting financial damages and at the expense of the procedure that it would require, and does not prejudge a potential crazy bid may be carried out.
