Mario Fernandez (Cuban, 1946-2012), American Bald Eagle "In God We Trust" Sculpture. Glass Eyes. Mounted on a square marble base with bronze medallion applied to the front dated 1984, signed and numbered by Mario F. Fernandez 171/350 on the front. Mario F. Fernandez (Cuban, 1946-2012) Imprisoned in Fidel Castro's Cuba as a teenager, Mario Fernandez fled his homeland that would lead through Mexico to the United States. It was during his confinement that the eagle became an important symbol to Mario. Dreaming of freedom, he would close his eyes and imagine himself to be an eagle soaring through the expansive sky. auction, continue the bidding, determine the successful bidder, cancel the sale of the lot,When making a bid, a bidder is accepting personal liability to pay the purchase price, including the buyer's premium, all applicable taxes and all other applicable charges, unless it has been explicitly agreed upon in writing with Charleston Estate Services before the commencement of the sale that the bidder is acting as agent on behalf of an identified third party acceptable to Charleston Estate Services, and that Charleston Estate Services will only look to the principal for payment.
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer agrees to pay Charleston Estate Services a buyers premium and the applicable sales tax added to the final total. The buyers
premium for all purchases except via live online bidding is eighteen percent (18%) of the hammer price up to and including $50,000; fifteen percent (15%) of any amount inexcess of $50,000 up to and including $1,000,000;and ten percent (10%) of any amount in excess of $1,000,000.
