Milbie Benge studied painting under A.D. Greer and Dalhart Windberg. A plein-air painter, she has become adept at painting quickly to capture the fleeting effects of natural sunlight at different times of the day. She is noted for her signature "halos of light," the soft effect that is evident on this canvas.
