Wyeth, dated 1941 and inscribed To my friend Angilly, l.r. oil on gessoed board The present painting is a study for The Thanksgiving Feast and Thanksgiving with the Indians, two sections of a series of murals depicting scenes of life in old New England commissioned by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in 1939. This work is included in the N.C. Wyeth catalogue raisonné database that is being compiled by the Brandywine River Museum and Conservancy, Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania as number 1431.
