More About this Item

Description: Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A flat pottery human figure, sometimes known as a "gingerbread flat" or "gingerbread warrior", with stippled shoulders and black and incised lines painted across the body that may represent scarification or tattooing. The face is classic West Mexican, with a huge nose and an elongated forehead leading into a huge headdress/coiffure. The ears are pierced, and presumably once wore earrings made of precious metals. The decoration continues onto the back of the figure. Comes with custom stand. Size: 3.95" W x 6.9" H (10 cm x 17.5 cm)
