woodcut, 1894-5, on Chine, presumably a proof apart from the signed and numbered edition of 100 published by the artist's son, Pola Gauguin in Copenhagen in 1921, with margins (left and right margins unevenly trimmed), pale mat staining, a 2 1/4 -in. repaired tear at the center left margin edge extending into the image, a small spot of old glue remains at the center lower margin edge, old glue remains and associated staining and skinning at the reverse of the upper margin corners (showing through), soft creasing at the lower right margin corner, otherwise in good condition, framed
