Description: PORCELAIN FIGURAL ELEPHANT KEROSENE STAND LAMP, brown and tan ground with facial features, globular-form font of three heads and trunks extending to a circular panelled foot with matching panelled stem, shoulder depicting a floral covering with tassels and gold enamel decoration, period No. 3 collar. Umbrella-form gold iridescent art glass shade with satin-finished crinkled swags over rib pattern. Fitted with a period E. Miller & Co. Apollo duplex burner and colorless chimney.
Dimensions: 11" H to top of shade, 4 3/4" D foot. Shade 6" H, 4 1/2" D top rim, 9 3/4" D fitter.
Medium: Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century.
Condition Report: Lamp professionally restored, some minute wear to decoration. Shade with a shallow chip to exterior of fitter, which does not affect the profile, along with some minute flakes/roughness as made, top with a minor and a significant flake to the exterior of rim, one swag with a minute broken bubble, as made. Burner and chimney undamaged.
