Original vintage incomplete set of prints Folio of Selected Prints The Birds of Australia Number Four by Gregory M. Mathews, an Australian-born amateur ornithologist and Samuel Albert White was a wealthy Australian racehorse owner, soldier, explorer, conservationist and amateur ornithologist. Includes introduction text and drawings of such birds as crimson finch, bush lark, little wood-swallow, rifle-bird and others by Henrik Gronvold (1858-1940), a Danish naturalist and artist, known for his illustrations of birds. Grønvold was among the last natural history illustrators to publish lithographs; litographed by Witherby & Co. Published by State Publishing, South Australia. 16 pages.
