Description: - VISSER, Carel (Dutch 1928 - 2015). Design for printed fabric, Triennale di Milano, 1957. Pencil, graphite and pastel on beige paper, inscribed 'C.N. Visser. van Eeghenlaan 12 Amsterdam. Holland. Triennale di Milano Concorso disegni per dessuti [sic!] stampati' (on the reverse). Sl. creased with occasional foxing spots and traces of silverfish, edges sl. worn with several small tears, some yellowing and foxing along the left edge.

Provenance: Private collection; acquired directly from the artist
Submitted to the international contest 'Concorso internazionale di disegni per tessuti stampati per l'arredamento' of XI edition of Triennale di Milano (1957). In the same year Carel Visser developed his 'Ovika' (Ontwerp Visser Karel) fabric design for Weverij De Ploeg. Early works by Carel Visser, and especially his textile designs, are very rare.
