Description: DONGEN, Kees van (Dutch 1877 - 1968) - Charles BAUDELAIRE. Les Fleurs du Mal. Paris-Bièvres, 1967. Album, illustrated by Kees van Dongen with text by Charles Baudelaire and preface by Jean Paul Sartre, printed by Atelier Crommelynck, Paris. Folded sheets, unbound as issued in the original covers and in a cloth box with one etching, nine engravings in colours and five engravings in black and white. This copy on Vélin d'Arches, stamp-numbered '232' from the total edition of 280, was printed under supervision of a notary and signed by the artist, the publisher and notary Pierre Deschamps, the latter over his stamp. Spine and lower margin of the back of the box sl. discoloured, usual slight offsetting on first page, else in excellent condition.
