Description

This is an important jade Edict of the first Qing Emperor Shunzhi. It is carved with the date first year of Shunzhi (1644). This Edict is of great importance because it is probably the first Edict ordered by the Shunzhi Emperor (1644-1661). The jade Edict is housed in a Zitan wood box. It is carved with Chinese scripts on one side and Manchurian scripts on the other side.
