It may also be considered a forerunner of the handgun. This example measures 4.75" tall with a 1" bore. The top is 2" across in a hexagon form and its base is 2.25" hexagon. They are solid Iron that is very heavy (about 3.5 lbs). It is of a square design with chamfered corners and is ignited by a small touch hole near the base. This example has an overall even natural rich original patina. An original Revolutionary War Era "museum" piece that will look great in any period or militaria display.
