Auction Terms And Conditions of Sale

Our Guarantee: Sizes are approximate. We guarantee the authenticity of all lots in this auction. Please bear in mind that most of the objects in our sales are hand made and often have small imperfections as part of the creative process. We will mention all of these that we, as collectors, would find in the least objectionable ourselves. Any return for refund for damage, repair or authenticity must be in our hands within 30 days after the end of the auction.
Terms of Sale: The buyer is the person making the final and highest bid. In the event of a disputed bid, the auctioneer shall determine who is the successful bidder, or the auctioneer may resell the lot in dispute, but in all instances the judgment of the auctioneer shall be final.
Sales Tax: A 21% VAT Latvian Sales Tax is included in the 20% buyer's premium,
Withdrawal: The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot before or at the time of the sale.

Purchaser will be liable for any deficiencies and all costs incurred, including collection and legal fees. Credit card purchases will incur an additional 3% fee.
International Payment: Visa and MasterCard are acceptable in our web page (www.antonia.lv). Otherwise buyers must pay by wire transfer to our bank. (SEB Bank, AS, SWIFT: UNLALV2X, IBAN (EUR) LV77UNLA0050000781673)

The final bid is the price at which the lot is knocked down to the buyer. This final bid, in all cases, is subject to an 20% buyer's premium, the purchase price being the total of the two sums. You may deduct 3% from the buyers premium when paying by Visa or MasterCard.
After the 10 day period has passed, no deduction may be taken. If the purchase price is not paid in full, the auctioneer may either cancel the sale, and any partial payment already made shall be there upon forfeited as liquidated damages or the auctioneer may resell the lot, without notice to the buyer.
Absentee, Written and Telephone bids: Absentee bids are welcomed. Absentee bids form you can find in our web-site www.antonia.lv. Absentee, written or telephone bids are subject to the same 20% buyer's premium, and all other requirements as listed above. The auctioneer, Classical Art Gallery, SIA (Gallery "ANTONIJA") and their employees are not responsible for absentee, internet, written or telephone bids that are not properly executed. We have a limited number of telephone lines available during the auction. These will be reserved on a first come first served basis for telephone bidding. Due to the limited number of lines, we may not be able to accommodate telephone bidding on lots with low estimates of under EUR 500. We will be happy to accept absentee bids on any lots not eligible for telephone bidding. All packing and shipping cost will be borne by the purchaser.
LiveAuctioneers will accept absentee bids for our auction and they will execute them for you. Keep in mind that LiveAuctioneers is one of four entities bidding in our auction. The others include phone bidders, bidders in our audience and our own absentee bidders.
The bottom line in any auction is simple. The highest bidder is the winner. It does not matter when you leave your bid with LiveAuctioneers because when the bidding starts, there is no way to control where the bidding will start or where it will end. We wish to be fair to everyone but leaving absentee bids with LiveAuctioneers or with us does not guarantee you will be the high bidder when the bidding is over.
Phone Bids: Phone lines are available on a first come, first served basis and are limited in number. All requests for overseas telephone lines must be accompanied by absentee bids which will be executed on the behalf of the bidder in case there is any problem in making the connection. Please make arrangements for phone lines as soon as possible, preferably at least one day before the sale. Please call to arrange for phone lines rather than fax or email the request. We also desire that anyone bidding on the phone be ready to bid up to the low estimate on the item in question. If that is not possible, we would prefer that you leave an absentee bid (which can be any amount) rather than tie up a phone line.
Buyer's Premium: All bids are subject to an 20% buyer's premium up to and including 30 000 EUR and 12% of the excens of the hammer price above 30 000 EUR and all other requirements as listed above.
Reserves and Estimates: The estimated value of each lot is printed in the catalog, and merely reflects the price range into which a lot might fall. Most lots have a reserve price below which they will not be sold. The reserve price is not published in the catalog, but in no case is it higher than the lower amount of the estimated range. Sellers reserve the right to have Classical Art Gallery, SIA act as their bidding agent and execute bids up to and including the reserve amount.
Advice to Bidders: The Classical Art Gallery, SIA (Gallery "ANTONIJA") staff is available to discuss all lots with potential buyers in Art Gallery "ANTONIJA" Riga, Brivibas street 157, or by telephone (+371 2 92 100 81) or e-mail: [email protected]
