Lot 215: Ruurd Elzer (Dutch, 1915-1995)

In 1945 Elzer exhibited with De Ploeg for the first time in 'Het Ebbingehuis' in Groningen. His work is quite typical for the Northern Dutch expressionism and in a review of the exhibition his work was described as: "Als ras-echte Groninger werkt Elzer met sprekende kleuren, welke met zijn brede toets dikwijls tot fraaie resultaten leiden". Christie's charge a premium to the buyer on the final bid price of each lot sold at the following rates: 23.8% of the final bid price of each lot sold up to and including € 150,000 and 14.28% of any amount in exces of € 150,000. Buyers' premium is calculated on the basis of each lot individually.
