Description
SYKORA, Zdeněk (Czech 1920 - 2011). Linie 85, 1991. Oil on canvas, signed and dated in felt pen (on the reverse), inscribed with the artist's name, title 'Linie nr. 85', dimensions, date and technique (on the stretcher on the reverse of the frame), 100 x 100 cm. Light traces of age, else good.

Notes
Linear abstract compositions by Zdeněk Sýkora are characteristic not only of his visual expression but also of his unique method of work. Sýkora was one of the first artists in the world to use computers as a means of creativity. Already since the early 1960s, he used computer calculations to determine nuances of colour, composition, density and direction of the lines. This mathematical accuracy collides with the idea of spontaneity of abstract art as every stroke of paint combines a creative impulse with a scientific logic. Sykora's work can be found in collections all over the world. Another painting from the 'Line-series' e.g. is treasured by Centre Pompidou, Paris.

Payments are accepted by bank transfer, Maestro, VP, Visa, Mastercard and cash. All bank charges are to be paid by the buyer.
