More About this Item

Description: 1 July 1890 SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN. KIEL. 3,5% Anleiheschein über 1000 Mark. Serie I. green, brown, black. No 131. Generally rather worn condition with heavy folds, a few small edge-tears and some staining. Large coat of arms of the city of Kiel, the capital of the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is one of the major maritime centers of the country. So far, only the 1923 bonds issued by Kiel were known to us, so this 1889 loan of 3 million Marks is indeed a novelty. Only this one piece was recently discovered.
