Item Overview

Description

Since graduating from Emily Carr in 1993, Vancouver artist Geoffrey Farmer has been featured in 15 solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions across Canada and around the world, including the Musée d'art contemporain in Montréal and Witte de With in Rotterdam, Netherlands. As Josée Drouin-Brisebois has noted, "Farmer's work embraces process and transformation, which manifests itself as continually altering projects that recognize their own instability and fragility of meaning." In 2009/2010, the artist's Every Letter of the Alphabet public art project produced text works for distribution and placement in and around Vancouver and its environs, creating dialogue about the texts and the city itself.
