Description: A Narrative of the Expedition to Botany Bay; with an Account of New South Wales, Its Productions, Inhabitants , &c, to which is Subjoined A List of Civil and Military Establishments at Port Jackson by Captain Watkin Tench of the Marines. London Printed for J Debrett, opposite Burlington-House, Piccadilly, 1789. Its bound in half leather and marbled boards in a mid nineteenth century binding. There is an embossed bookseller's stamp on the front endpaper (Rigby of Adelaide). A library stamp may have been removed from the title page but you have to look hard to see where it may have been. The book has been trimmed with the result that a couple of pages have no margin. One page number 18 has 10 lines where the first letter is either trimmed or missing and Page 20 has 2 lines like this. It is missing the half title and 2 pages of advertisements at the rear. This is the first of the First Fleet books to be published and also the scarcest. Its enclosed in a custom made cloth box
