Description

[ The Ram Rod Shurtliff Collection - Life on the Golden Road with the Grateful Dead ] A Bob Seidemann mounted-to-board photographic print of The Grateful Dead, 1971 The now-famous black and white image of the band (depicting original line-up of Jerry Garcia, Bill Kreutzmann, Pig Pen, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir) shot in 1971 by the noted rock photographer; enlarged and mounted to a heavy board; sticker on verso reads "Seeing Eye / Studios / Photograph / Bob Seidemann." The band chose this photograph to use in the inner gatefold of their seventh album, "Grateful Dead" (aka "Skull and Roses"), and this particular blow-up image was given to them by Seidemann to commemorate that release. (Please note this piece is somewhat damaged and shows dirt, paper loss, water damage, and mold on its surface, but the main image is not affected.) Also included is the 1971 record album. 40 x 50in
