More About this Item

Description

The Sahlberg is an extraordinary example of craftsmanship inspired by the cabinet houses found in homes of the very wealthy during 17th century Europe which have led to the modern miniatures movement. The 9 room cabinet house is a masterpiece of miniature art, architecture and design and was created by master miniaturist Jimmy Landers. The piece includes a 3 story Grand Foyer, a 2-story wood paneled library, a dining room, parlor and two bedrooms in 1:12 scale. The Sahlberg is replete with remarkable details including stained glass windows, brass chandeliers and sconces, mahogany wood planked floors, recessed ceilings, custom millwork and ornate plaster fireplaces. An extensive system of LED and incandescent lighting can be found throughout. Mr. Landers has been crafting custom miniature structures since retiring from a corporate career in sales. The Sahlberg, like most of Jimmy’s previous works, was created without patterns or drawings. "It’s all in my head," he says, and designs are based on “what I like and what I want to make." Gallerist and D. Thomas Fine Miniatures founder Darren Scala says, “I’m excited to be representing Mr. Landers and to be handling the sale of The Sahlberg." It’s been more than a generation since we’ve seen a structure of such beauty available for sale and I’m thrilled to think it will be headed for a new home!” Additional images of The Sahlberg can be found at https://bit.ly/sahlbrg and https://bit.ly/sahlvid
