7. Conditions reports-
We pride ourselves in providing accurate condition reports. These often make the piece sound worse than it is, so use our 'condition' report alongside the photographs to assess the piece yourself.
We don't use 'AF' - all faults? as found? -either meaning is useless when describing condition of a piece, especially if it is a fault that cannot be seen in a photo clearly.
Instead, we are obsessive in describing faults and flaws. We are your eyes when you make the decision to bid on a piece, and want you to be happy with the piece when you receive it.
These are our descriptive terms for condition:
Crack: the ceramic or porcelain has a crack of some length, but has not broken into pieces. Hairline: the ceramic body has a very fine, faint crack that is hard to see without close examination; not broken
Chip: a loss has occurred, usually to a rim, with the concave void left by missing material. Bruise: while an impact has occurred that could form a chip, the piece has never come away from the body, forming a 'bruise' instead.
Star Crack: a stress to the body away from the edges has resulted in cracks radiating away from the point, like arms of a *.
Stained: darker material has penetrated the glaze of the piece and is obviously causing a darker cloudy appearance
Crazed: the glaze surface has multiple fine lines due to unequal expansion of body vs. glaze. Very common on a wide variety of ceramic products, and therefore not always an affect on value.
Worn: the loss of surface details through abrasion, particularly common on gold rims.

If there is no condition report, it may mean it was missed - please feel free to contact us for more information/ photos.
. Buyers are encouraged to inspect lots personally or through a trusted representative before bidding.

8- AUTHENTICITY
We judge the authenticity of every piece we offer, and convey this clearly in our descriptions.
Some terms we use:
CIRCA - dated to a variation of 10 years before and after the date, eg. 'Circa 1850' = 1840-60.
STYLE - after a design, made to the same design, often a lot later, eg. 'Georgian' is made during the reign of King George I , II or III; 'Georgian Style' is made to the same design, but later, ie. 'Georgian Style, circa 1910'.

Our Lot Descriptions are our interpretation of a piece, using current knowledge. Dates are provided as a guide to the best of our knowledge and according to current literature. In some instances, this may be assessed differently by future parties. We take no responsibility for changes from our original attribution etc. that may occur post-sale.
We do guarantee Condition, Size/Weight, and Materials .

9. Withdrawal of Lots:
The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot from the sale at any time, before or after bidding has commenced, without liability to any potential buyer.

10.RESERVES
Items without reserves have the greatest success rate in an auction environment. We will start at a 'reasonable' agreed price, but if there is no interest, will pass the lot.
If a reserve is required, we will evaluate and agree with the seller at time of cataloguing.
Items with a reserve will not be sold below the amount agreed with the seller.

11. Disputes:
in the event of any dispute, the decision of the auctioneer shall be final and binding. If purchases are not paid for within the week following the auction, we will continue to request payment- please contact us if there are any issues. Items not paid within 2 weeks will be considered abandoned and no longer regarded as a purchase by the winning bidder. Any such non-communicative bidders will be banned from future participation in our auctions.

11- INSPECTION
Our physical location in Geelong will be open for inspection on advertised days prior to the auction. Other times can be arranged by prior appointment.

12. Participation:
By participating in the auction, all bidders agree to abide by these conditions of sale.
