Description: Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima (bird), ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE; Costa Rica, ca. 1000 CE. A pair of small pottery whistles, one a simple, long-beaked bird form from the West Mexican shaft tomb cultures, the other a very cute little polychrome coatimundi, painted cream, red, and black. Size: 3.5" L x 1.45" W x 2.1" H (8.9 cm x 3.7 cm x 5.3 cm)

Provenance: Estate of Peter Arnovick. Mr. Arnovick was an avid collector and dealer of ancient and ethnographic arts from around the world.
