The Story of Tin illustrated the month of August, accompanied by the following text by John Kieran, "Being a component of bronze, tin was used as a metal before the dawn of history. The ancient Phoenicians... are said to have found tin, first in Spain and then in Britain.. . Now the Federated Malay States, Bolivia and the Dutch East Indies produce about 75 percent of the tin used in world commerce. It is a very valuable metal..."
