Description: COMMEMORATIVE PISTOL WITH JAMES & REZIN BOWIE KNIFE PLUS REPRO PEACE MEDAL. PISTOL: cal. 45. S# 306. Bbl. 8 5/8" octagon. A limited edition Kentucky style pistol offered in 1985 by U.S. Historical Society & produced by the Williamsburg Firearms Manufactory. Top flat has inlayed oval marked "ANDREW JACKSON". Blade front sight w/ fixed square notch rear sight. Gray finished lock & hammer w/ floral highlights w/ oval mark consisting of crown over "W". Single trigger has curled tip & pierced web. Key fastened tiger strip maple stock. Silver finished fittings include trigger guard, key escutcheons, pipe, thimble, nosecap & sideplate depicting the Battle of New Orleans. Both sides of butt have oval medallions. Right oval has bust of Andrew Jackson. Left oval has horse & rider. Butt sections of stock & area forward of trigger guard finial have decorative brass wire inlay. Ebony ramrod has silver finished tip. CONDITION: pistol is in near new condition retaining virtually all wood & metal finish. Bright bore w/ sharp rifling. BOWIE KNIFE: United States Historical Society James Bowie & Rezin Bowie Commemorative knife. Knife features a 9 3/8" blade w/ brightly polished blued finish having gold plated ornamentation on both sides. Right side features busts of James & Rezin Bowie under a banner w/ their names. Left side features of knife & sword fight under banner w/ words "VIDALIA SANDBAR". Knife has walnut handle w/ silver finished pommel & fittings. Knife is housed in mahogany box w/ red velour fitted interior. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wooden presentation case w/ Andrew Jackson bust on inside lid. Case has concealed compartment containing the knife & its box under removable tray fitted to pistol. Includes Certificate of Authenticity for the Official James Bowie Knife No. 81. Case also contains key. CONDITION: case has lightly worn interior w/ scuffs & handling marks on lid. Knife is in near new condition showing sm. marks on handle. ANTIQUE. (01-14754/DS). PEACE MEDAL COPY. This is a modern official U.S. Mint copy of an Andrew Jackson Indian Peace medal of 1829. The medal features a bust of Jackson on the front. The reverse features a crossed peace pipe/pipe tomahawk w/ clasped hands of a soldier & an Indian. The motto on the reverse is "PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP". The medal has been drilled & attached to a late 19th century purple collar for the I.O.O.F. (Odd Fellows). CONDITION: medal has some tarnish, price tag residue & a noticeable dent at the 8 o'clock position. Collar has various open seams & loose bullion trim. (02-11349/BF). $1,000-1,500 for lot.

Payments: 8. PAYMENT: All items are to be paid for in American Funds the day of the sale. We accept Cash, pre-approved checks, Visa, MC, American Express, Discover & wire transfers. All items must be paid for in full before being removed from our facility. All fees associated with the cost of a wire transfer or bank check are those of the purchaser.
* Must have valid drivers license when paying by charge cards & checks.
* Checks are to be pre-approved by auctioneer prior to the auction (at least 2 business days before auction, NOT the day of the auction). A letter of reference from your bank is recommended to those who have never done business with us before. The auctioneer reserves the right to hold merchandise purchased by checks that have not been pre-approved, until we can see that the check has cleared the bank. It is our policy to hold merchandise on all first time buyers until check has cleared the bank. Our bank has recommended 10 business days. This enables the check to clear the bank & if it does not, then it gives them the time to notify us via mail.
* There will be a $25 fee charged for all returned checks.
* Third party checks are not accepted.
Note: Delay in payment, means delay in shipment to you. Delay in shipment to you could mean you lose all possibility of a return, so please make a prompt payment. Speediest form of payment is Credit Cards or Bank Checks. Personal or Business checks from first time buyers will hold the shipment up for 10 business days until checks have cleared the bank. This could jeopardize the warranties of the descriptions if the shipment exceeds 18 business days.
9. OUT OF COUNTRY BUYERS.
9A. Payment must be in the form of either Wire transfers or Checks drawn on United States Banks. Credit cards are only accepted for the shipping process, NOT for payment. All fees associated with the use of a wire transfer is the responsibility of the purchaser. This includes the $25 fee that Poulin Antiques & Auctions, Inc. is charged by their bank for the international wire transfer.
9B. The payment by wire transfer or bank check qualifies the purchaser for a 2.5% deduction on their Buyers Premium.
