Condition Report

The canvas is original. There is some buckling in the corners. There is a layer of surface dirt and the varnish has discoloured. A protrusion and some cracking, possibly due to impact, is visible at the lower edge, to the left of the centre. There are other isolated areas of craquelure, most notably in the white of the figures' cloaks. Examination under UV light reveals scattered areas of minor restoration mostly in the background, such as in the centre of the upper left hand quadrant. The work is held in a gold painted frame. Unexamined out of frame.
