Contemp. full mottled sheep skin with raised bands and gold-tooled compartments (sl. scratched and rubbed at extremities, corners showing, spine ends damaged, one joint cracked, small sticker on front cover of vol. 1), edges of covers decorated with gilt floral roll tools (partly faded), all edges marbled. With 150 finely hand-coloured engraved plates by A.W. Winterschmidt, some heightened with gold, in a separate volume. Occasional very light (mainly marginal) foxing. First Dutch edition.
