The Single Action Army was specifically designed for a U.S. military contract in 1872 and served for 20 years.
The Single Action Army is also known as the Colt SAA. It has been produced in more than 30 calibers and a variety of different barrel lengths and grip styles.
The Single Action Army was a staple of the Old West and was found in the hands of soldiers, lawmen, outlaws, and ranchers. The weapon served reliably in a variety of roles and different configurations. There are three generations of the Colt SAA ranging from the first generation created in 1872 to the final changes in 1976.
