Krug Champagne

Krug Champagne was founded in Reims, France by Joseph Krug in 1843. Krug founded the winery after working for Champagne Jacquesson for a few years.

Each year, Krug Champagne produces 450,000 cases of wine. Krug Grand Cuvee is its signature wine, an ambitious blend of juice from 120 different wines across a dozen vintages. Characteristic of the winery is a six-year aging process. The grapes grown for Krug Champagnes are chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier. Krug owns 30 percent of the vineyards it sources fruit from.

While currently owned by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, Krug Champagne is also run by the sixth generation of the Krug family: Olivier Krug. Krug is also part of the Club des Grandes Marques collection of French Champagnes, of which there are 24 houses.
